It's Finally June!!

We are counting down the days till Baby Banks makes his grand debut! June 10 is the magic day, but I have a feeling we may be a little disappointed.  At Friday's doctor visit, we scheduled to induce on Wednesday, June 15, if nothing happens before then.  This week we will have a sonogram to assess his size and go from there.  Currently, Dr. thinks he's averaging around 7 lbs.  I can't wait to see what he ends up weighing.  It seems that doctors are always off by a pound or two...or three.

The nursery is finally complete.  The pack-n-play has been set up beside our bed for the past several weeks.  Andy and I just walk by and stare at it each time, and surprisingly it hasn't become a collector of random clothing laying around.  The car seat has yet to be installed, but we're getting there.  The bottles have been washed. The clothes laundered. The pediatrician lined up.  What else could we be forgetting? We are more than prepared to bring baby home. Ha! Are you kidding? We have no clue what's in store for us.  We are in for quite the awakening...not sure about a rude one, but perhaps just a major life change.

I've posted pics of Banks' room below.

Thankfully, the only new piece of furniture we purchased was the glider and ottoman.

What was once my crib is now Banks' crib, painted by Dad.

It was a hard sell getting Andy to take down the ceiling fan and hang this outdoor lantern.

A vintage wire laundry basket that I spray-painted red.

This was my dad's desk as a kid, who would've thought it'd be used as a changing table..

A fun find from Sheffield's Antique Store.

This nifty little sweater ball was ordered in the wee hours of the night from Etsy.
If you ever need a piece of chicken wire, good luck.

The most comfortable chair in the house, our little glider from BabyTime.

We read this book to baby when Andy's in a mood...

My most favorite part of the nursery....the book wall. It makes me happy!

I've caught a lot of grief about not having a theme, but I'd like to say that these puppy dogs on the roman shade could possibly serve the purpose.

I'm purposefully leaving Banks' baby book out on the dresser so that I'm reminded to make notes of the memories soon to be made!

Banks or Betty?

Blogs are meant to be updated on a regular basis right? I guess I need a little reminder every now and then, but I've promised myself that I'd update more often considering that we're down for the count.  I wanted to post some of the pics from my 20 week ultrasound first.  We were thrilled to learn that Baby Bynum was a BOY!

It's a Boy!

 Baby Bynum - January 19, 2011 (20 weeks)

Today we went for the 4-D ultrasound and my two week visit. We had an entourage enter the waiting room for the big performance.  Debbie, Robin, Andy, and myself were pumped to sneak a peek at baby's sweet face.  Once we got in the ultrasound room, I think he figured out that all eyes were on him.  He wasn't much in to showing out at the time.  I told the ultrasound tech that had she came into my office around 10:00 a.m. to perform the 4-D, he'd have nothing short of stage fright!  Nonetheless, we were excited at what we were able to see today.

(I think he definitely has Andy's mouth...yes, another talker on the way.)

 Sticking out his tongue!

Andy and I were a little concerned at the size of his nose, but realized that the camera was shoved up on it.

Single Occupancy

I've decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon.  Let's just cut to the chase--Andy and I are expecting our first baby in June!  Hopefully this blog will allow us to update others on the happenings of what's to come with Baby Bynum.

What an interesting past few weeks 'tis been.  Aside from a moderate amount of morning/night sickness, I have been feeling fine.  Andy has been more than supportive.  He deserves a medal for his patience and caretaking abilities.

We went to the doctor last Thursday for the first ultrasound.  Everything appears right on track with the due date set for June 10.  Baby Bynum has a rapid heart rate clocking in at 162 bpm!  I've had several friends and family members assure me that it's a girl because of the fast heart rate, but I guess we'll just have to wait several more weeks for the final verdict!

This weekend I am looking forward to getting away with two close friends from high school, Lindy and Elizabeth.  We're headed to Hot Springs for some rest and relaxation.  I cannot wait to tell them the big news!  They are each expecting their second child, so we will just be able swap pregnancy talk the whole weekend.  Can't wait!!
